Easton's Battle of the Bands Set for Saturday

EASTON, Conn.  – Easton will rock out Saturday night with the Easton Community Center’s Battle of the Bands contest that offers a recording contract to the winning band.

“The Guys Over There,” from Bethel and “The Nobodies,” from Easton are the bands currently on the agenda. The contest is open to middle school bands.

Competing bands will each play four songs and will be judged on four criteria: stage presence, song difficulty, music difficulty and originality.

Billy Barrett, the youth and teen director at the Easton Community Center, said three judges from the community center staff will oversee the contest.

The winning band gets a recording contract at Easton’s Sure Sound Recording Studio.

The Battle of the Bands takes place Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Easton Community Center, 364 Sport Hill Road. Admission for fans is $5.
