Eastonites Can Recycle Christmas Trees

EASTON, Conn. – Eastonites can now recycle their Christmas trees at the town’s Department of Public Works yard.

According to the town website, residents can bring trees anytime during the week between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Under state law, Christmas trees are considered yard waste and must be recycled like brush, grass clippings and leaves. They can be deposited in the marked area at 15 Westport Road, where they will be turned into mulch.

The town asks that residents remove all foreign material such as lights, decorations and plastic bags from the tree before they are dropped off. If you have any questions, call 203-268-0714.
