Eastonite Graduates From Mary Washington

Brittany Kathryn Butler of Easton graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Mary Washington.

A total of 1,295 students graduated during the university's 100th commencement graduate ceremony on May 6 and undergraduate ceremony on May 7. U.S. Rep. Bob Filner (D-Calif.) delivered the commencement address for graduate students, and Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) gave the undergraduate commencement address.

The university awarded 77 master of business administration degrees, 134 master of education degrees, 12 master of science in management information systems degrees, 29 master of science in elementary education degrees, 450 bachelor of arts degrees, 42 bachelor of liberal studies degrees, 92 bachelor of professional studies degrees and 459 bachelor of science degrees. 

The University of Mary Washington is a coeducational public college with its residential campus in Fredericksburg, Va., 50 miles south of Washington, D.C., and a second graduate and professional studies campus in nearby Stafford. The university, with a total enrollment of more than 5,000 students, is known for its commitment to academic excellence, strong undergraduate liberal arts program and dedication to life-long learning and professional development.
