Easton Voters Wanted a Voice

Eastonite residents cast their votes Tuesday hoping their voices will be heard on a number of issues.

Claire Paolini said the weak economy brought her to the polls. "I wouldn't have missed it for the world," she said. Her husband, Dr. Gilberto Paolini, stressed the importance of voting. "If a person does not vote, why are you calling yourself a citizen?" he asked.

John Harris said he favors reducing the size of government, getting back to respect for the Constitution and reducing spending in Washington.

The polls remain open at Samuel Staples Elementary school until 8 p.m.
