Easton Historic House Needs Cleanup

Easton residents have had opportunities all summer to tour and explore the Bradley-Hubbell historic property and home on Black Rock Turnpike. This weekend, the Easton Historical Society is asking for a little help in return.

Society President Lisa Burghardt is looking for volunteers Saturday at 9 a.m. to help clean the house interior and windows and to sweep and rake leaves on the property.

The last tour of the season will be on Sunday, and Burghardt said more help is needed to prepare to close the nearly 200-year-old home to tours.

Burghardt, who calls for volunteers twice a year, is looking for more hands to help. The property manager is 78 years old and could use more help from the community, she said.

Volunteers ages 12 and older may help and earn community service hours.

To volunteer or for more information, call Lisa Burghardt at 203-581-0850 or by email.
