Easton roads remained open despite Sundays heavy snowfall. However, residents were asked to stay at home Monday, if possible, as the Connecticut Department of Transportation is still working to clear snow drifts created by the heavy winds.
Easton Police Capt. James Candee said that few residents were venturing into the wintry conditions, which helped CDOT crews clear both state and secondary roads.
"We appreciate if they stay at home and let us finish the job," Candee said. "So far people have been cooperative."
The police helped a disabled vehicle that was stuck in the snow, but no major accidents or road closures have been reported, Candee added.
At one point during the storm, more than 100 houses were without power. According to the United Illuminating Company, all homes were back on line as of 11 a.m. Monday.
