Easton Center Puts the Moves On

You can kick off the New Year with kickboxing classes at the Easton Community Center taught by Aida Fedorko. Her cardio-kickboxing involves traditional movements to music and is an increasingly popular self-defense method for people of all ages. The workout claims to be good for the heart and the abdominal muscles.

"This is designed to ... get those six-pack abs you've always wanted," says the center's newsletter. "If you're looking for a great cardiovascular workout, you found it!"

The classes run from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. Tuesdays from Jan. 12 to April 6.

Fedorko is also offering fitness sessions for groups of up to four people. Pick your friends and pick the areas of your body you want to tone with a customized plan on a flexible schedule.

Don't forget Zumba, the Latin-inspired dance and a fitness workout that is one of the most popular classes at the center. Those interested in the class can sign up for a 12-week session from 6:30 to 7:20 p.m. Mondays from Jan. 10 to April 11.

"You can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour because you're doing all these delicious Latin grooves, but you're adding these components of fitness," Fedorko told The Daily Weston in September.
