Westport police arrested two women from Bridgeport Wednesday for allegedly stealing items from a children's clothing store on Main Street. Ronjel R. Willis, 27, and Lisa A. Samuels, 31, were walking down Post Road East, not far from the store, when police nabbed them.
A search on the scene turned up items stolen from the store as well as specially designed purses that conceal stolen items. The store's loss prevention notified police that both women are suspects in larcenies at their stores located in other towns across the state.
Both women are charged with sixth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, and possession of a shoplifting device. Bond was set at $10,000 for both women. They are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 20.
