Driver, 17, Faces Drug Charge

Following is a list of some of the police incidents that occurred in Weston between Aug. 30 and Sept. 14, according to Detective Carl Filsinger's e-mail watch group (residents who receive e-mails alerting them to police activities in town):

? On Monday (8/30) around 11:30 p.m. an officer responding to a motor vehicle accident cited the 17-year-old operator with a curfew violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

? Sometime between Tuesday night (8/31) and early Wednesday (9/1) someone cut gate wires at a residence on Goodhill Road.

? On Thursday (9/2) around 3:30 p.m. a guest at a home on Calvin Road North was charged with disorderly conduct after getting into a verbal and physical fight with the resident.

? On Saturday (9/4) around noon a Rogues Ridge resident reported that jewelry was missing from the home.

? At around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday (9/4) a Greenlea Lane resident reported that a family member's name was used on a counterfeit check made out to an Arizona resident. This is the so-called "Nigerian scam," where an arrangement is made to pay for something with a counterfeit check written in excess of the agreed upon amount

? At around 10:45 p.m. on Saturday (9/4) a Tannery Lane resident reported that a car followed his car around town after he stopped in Bisceglie Park to use his cell phone. Polica say that people who feel they are being followed should call 911 and stay on the line with the dispatcher. They should drive to a populated place or, even better, to police headquarters. Police say they have had people followed right to the police station.
