EASTON, Conn. - Nearly 450 Eastonites were without power for two hours Monday after a downed tree took out an AT&T utility pole, according to First Selectman Thomas Herrmann.
A tree fell in the area of North Park Avenue and Stepney Road after 4 p.m., according to Herrmann, and knocked out power to 449 customers. Although the tree fell on an AT&T line, crews from United Illuminating "did a temporary fix" on the pole Monday night, Herrmann said.
AT&T is expected to replace the damaged pole this week, he said.
Power was restored to the area just after 6 p.m. Monday.
