A Westport woman and her Easton boyfriend were caught in a lie by Westport police early Saturday after Jason Hotchkiss told an officer he needed help with his car.
According to reports, Hotchkiss, 40, approached an officer on the Post Road and said his car was broken down on Beachside Avenue. When the officer drove Hotchkiss back to the car, it was evident it had been involved in an accident. When asked, Hotchkiss told the officer that he struck the guardrail after the car's drive shaft broke. The officer eventually learned that Hotchkiss's girlfriend, Elizabeth Dacey of 7 Crossbrook Lane, had been driving the car. Dacey, 28, was found sleeping in Hotchkiss's car, which was parked on the Post Road. She admitted to having the accident.
Hotchkiss was charged with falsely reporting an incident and is due in court Oct. 26. Dacey was charged with evading responsibility and failure to drive right. She is due in court Oct. 26 as well.

? Stamford resident Anne Wade was stopped by Westport police after being spotted driving erratically on the Post Road on Saturday night. When Wade, 46, got out of her car, the officer saw a syringe on the floor of the car in plain view, reports said. Wade was searched and found to be in possession of Alprazolam and Suboxone. A check on her driver's license showed it was suspended. She was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle under suspension. She is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 26.
? Stratford resident James Sellitti was arrested Friday night by Westport police after a domestic dispute. According to reports, Sellitti, 34, went to his wife's place of business and became loud and abusive during an argument over use of their car. He was charged with breach of peace and appeared in court Oct. 18.
