Redding, Cool Off During Heat Wave at Topstone Park

REDDING, Conn. – With a forecast for sunny, hot and humid weather and a high temperature of 94 degrees for the next two days, Redding residents will be looking for a place to cool off. The best spot in town is Topstone Park on Topstone Road, where Topstone Park Beach opens for swimming at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Summer hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. start Thursday.

Lifeguards are on duty, and the water is refreshingly cool. Kayaks, paddleboats and canoes are available for use free of charge with paid admission, which is $5 for residents, $4 for youth, $2 for seniors and $10 for nonresidents.

Weston residents cannot swim at Bisceglie Pond at Bisceglie-Scribner Park until Saturday June 23, when the pool begins its summer hours of 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day through Labor Day.

Although Weston residents won’t be able to swim at the pond during this week’s two-day heat wave, they can enjoy a hiking trail where conditions will definitely be a little cooler.
