Come Check Out Easton's Farms

EASTON, Conn. — Today is your chance to get down on the farm with the Easton Farm Tour offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Here's what each of the farms has to offer:

Aspetuck Valley Apple Barn at 720 Black Rock Turnpike will have peach salsa, peach bread and peach samples. 

Buttonwood Farm at 114 Center Road will allow visitors to pet and feed the donkeys and ride ponies. 

Gilbertie's Herb Gardens at 65 Adams Road will offer tours of the farm, greenhouses and herbs. Tourists will receive a free rosemary plant. Sal Gilbertie will be selling his book, "Small Plot, High Yield Gardening," and plants will be available for purchase as well. 

J&L Orchids at 20 Sherwood Road will offer 15 percent off everything.

Lion Hill Farm at 1020 Sport Hill Road will be raffling two free half-hour private classes. Pony rides will be from 2 to 4 p.m. 

Sherwood Farm at 355 Sport Hill Road will have lots of samples — changing by the hour. Samples of bruschetta, pizza, milk, heirloom tomatoes, melons, mozzarella and possibly bacon will be offered. Two ears of corn will be given away during each tour. 

Silverman's Farm at 451 Sport Hill Road will have peach and apple picking as well as tractor rides. Two children and one adult can enter the animal farm for free Saturday. 

At the Bradley-Hubbell House at 535 Black Rock Turnpike, docents will be at the barn, house and gardens.

Maple Row Growers at 227 Stepney Road.

Maple Row Tree Farm at 555 North Park Ave. 

Gray Fresian Farm 145 Eden Hill Road.

Candee Farm at 456 Morehouse Road.

Meet at the Firehouse Green at 1 Center Road. Skinny Pines will be selling pizza made with local ingredients. The Easton Banjo Society will be performing live music on the green.
