Cliff Ross, Westport Architect and Builder

A memorial service was held Sunday at Saugatuck Congregational Church for longtime Westport resident Cliff Ross, an architect and builder, who died May 4. He was 59.

Ross was born in Woodmere, N.Y., and moved to Westport with his family in 1963. A 1969 graduate of Staples High School, he went on to receive a master's degree in architecture from Tulane University.

After a few years of traveling, Ross returned to Westport in 1977, where, with his father and brother, he built his first house and formed Ross Builders.

Ross also coached Westport youth sports teams and enjoyed playing tennis and golf. He served on the Golf Advisory Committee at Longshore Club Park, his home course.

In addition to his wife, Katherine, Ross is survived by three children, Cooper, Tyler and Rebecca Ross, all of Westport; a sister, Randi Ross of Westport; a brother, Stuart Ross of Weston; an aunt, Jill Ross of Westport; an aunt and uncle, Gloria and Michael Alhanti of New York, and cousins and nieces.
