Cash Stolen From Weston Middle School

A cash register at Weston Middle School was emptied of $450 between Friday afternoon and Monday morning.

A statement from Weston Detective Carl Filsinger said a food service manager contacted police Monday morning to report the theft.

In an interview, Filsinger said there were no signs of forced entry and he suspected someone with access to the cash register, such as a school employee, took the money. No surveillance footage is available of the area where the theft took place, but Filsinger said footage from other areas could contain clues to identify the perpetrator. Filsinger said the police department has no leads, but an investigation was under way.
