David Lustberg, the transportation director for the Weston School District has been fired for allegedly misappropriating fuel, the district announced on Tuesday.

Schools Superintendent William McKersie noted in an email to the school community that the district is implementing a new system for managing buses, with Marilyn Dietzman, of First Group Transportation and interim special education transportation coordinator Rachel Keneally coordinating route information.

Lustberg has reportedly been stealing fuel from the district for years, the investigation determined. McKersie noted that the misappropriated fuel has been reported to police and that Lustberg has also been ousted as the Weston High School softball team.

The district noted that If any parents have any questions or concerns regarding school bus transportation, they can contact Dietzman by calling (203) 454-1984. or emailing marilyn.dietzman@firstgroup.com. Dietzman is based on the Weston campus and works solely on Weston Public Schools transportation. Keneally can be reached by calling (203) 258-7917 or emailing rachelkeneally@westonps.com.
