Two drivers were hospitalized Saturday night after their BMWs collided at Wilton Road and Newtown Turnpike in Westport. Westport police, firefighters and EMS responded to the accident at about 5:51 p.m.
One of the drivers had to be extricated from his car as the driver's side door was pinned up against a stone wall. Both drivers were transported to Norwalk Hospital by Westport EMS for further evaluation.
Traffic was directed around the accident by Westport police as workers cleared the roadway, including spilled fluids from the cars. The area was cleared at 7:29 p.m.
