WESTPORT, Conn. -- A woman who sued her 12-year-old nephew say she just wanted to have her medical bills paid by the insurance and was hesitant to pursue the case from the beginning, according to the Hartford Courant.
New York City resident Jennifer Connell, 52, said her nephew acted unreasonably when he jumped into her arms, causing her to fall and break her wrist. She sued in Bridgeport Superior Court for $127,000, reported the Hartford Courant.
The woman said she was never looking for money and loved her nephew, but she was forced to sue after the insurance company offered her $1 as a settlement, the Hartford Courant said.
A six-member jury found the boy was not liable, said the Hartford Courant.
