It's said an apple a day will keep the doctor away, but the apple found in Trevor Horton's car by Westport police only helped to get him into trouble.
Police spotted Horton, 18, of Weston, on Lyons Plains Road on Tuesday night with a busted taillight.
When Horton was stopped, the officer smelled marijuana coming from inside his car. A search of the car turned up a glass jar with marijuana under the passenger's seat, a glass pipe and an apple that was modified to be used as a pipe.
Horton was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 5.
