Women's Self Defense Class Coming to Easton

EASTON, Conn. – Do you want to unleash your inner self-defense arsenal? The Easton Community Center is sponsoring a women’s self-defense seminar next month for teens and adults.

The program, created by USA Seishin Karate Association, runs from Jan. 10 to Feb. 14. Students will learn a combination of physical, psychological and philosophical lessons, with a focus on helping participants think in a different way to better protect themselves. The physical portion of the class does not require participants to be in shape and will not be physically demanding.

The program will run on Tuesdays from 8 to 9 p.m., at the community center, which is located at 364 Sport Hill Road. The cost to attend is $100 for members and $130 for nonmembers. Students should bring a notepad, pen and water, and wear loose fitting clothes and sneakers. For more information, call 203-459-9700.
