Westport Country Playhouse Opens Doors To The Community

WESTPORT, Conn. – It’s not every day that visitors to the Westport Country Playhouse get to stand on the stage or see inside the dressing rooms. But that’s exactly what hundreds of adults and children got to do—and then some—Saturday during the 2013 Season Kick-Off Block Party.

Nearly 600 people attended the party-like event, the Playhouse announced Monday. Festivities included backstage tours, food, games and special ticket offers.

The event celebrated the Playhouse’s upcoming five-play season, which begins April 30 with A.R. Gurney’s “The Dining Room,” a story about the American family and its vanishing traditions.
