WESTON, Conn. The following letter was written by Dan Gilbert of Weston.
Im running for first selectman because, like you, I love our town. We share a common vision for Weston. We want a great school system and ethical and effective town government. A government thats fiscally responsible to assure we can all afford to live here. Government thats open and honest, where each of us is heard with respect. Leadership thats focused on your needs. We want to help our neighbors in need and our seniors. We want to protect Westons autonomy.
Sharon and I moved here over 25 years ago. We came for Westons great school system. Im currently a selectman. Ive served on our towns Planning and Zoning Commission. I split wood as a Kiwanian to support the WarmUp Fund, collect food for our food pantry, work on Americares projects in town and serve lunch to our seniors every month at Norfield church hall.
Id appreciate the opportunity to assure that our town realizes its full potential. I can best do that by being your first selectman. While these are challenging times, our vision for Weston can be realized. Ill begin by bringing you into the planning process, by respecting everyone who attends our selectmens meetings and by working to support a strong sense of community and volunteerism in our town.
I give you my word, Ill always tell you the truth. Youll clearly know where I stand on every issue and Ill never, and I mean never, put politics before you and your needs.
