WESTON, Conn. - As the Christmas lists for the kids start to grow, many Weston parents are looking for ways to save some money this time of year. One of those ways is at the Weston Public Library, which has several free or discounted tickets available to museums and art galleries across the region.
Weston residents, with a valid library card, can check out a Museum/Attraction Pass at the front desk, courtesy of the Friends of the Weston Library. The card can be checked out for only seven days and cannot be renewed.
Library Director Karen Tatarka said Tuesday that over 20 organizations across the state accept the pass. According to the librarys website, some of the places the passes can be used are:
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield
The Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport
Children's Museum in West Hartford
Earthplace: The Nature Discovery Center in Westport
The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk
Stamford Museum & Nature Center in Stamford
The Mystic Aquarium in Mystic
Tatarka said each museum or gallery has different policy on the use of the card. For a complete breakdown of the discounts, check out the librarys website or call 203-222-2665.
