Starts Knitting Circle

WESTON, Conn. — The Weston Women's League will host a weekly knitting circle from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday evenings beginning Oct. 13 at the Weston Public Library, 56 Norfield Road.

Joining "Knit One, Nibble One," an organization founded by Westport's Ellen Lane, the circle will knit "healing shawls" to comfort women undergoing chemotherapy at the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital. The Women's League is providing "Knit One, Nibble One" kits for $25 per kit for members and $35 for non-members. Each kit includes yarn, needles, directions for knitting the shawls, a package of Nelle's cookies and a tote bag.

"This a wonderful way to make a difference in someone's life, while catching up with friends and making new ones," says Knitting Circle chair Debby Katz.

Drop-in knitters ages 8 and above are welcome. For more information, contact Debby Katz at debbykatz@hotmail.com, or visit the League's website at westonwomensleague.org.
