Weston Women's League Hosts Luncheon

WESTON, Conn. — The Weston Women's League is inviting current and prospective members to its free annual Summer Luncheon to be held Tuesday, July 19, to celebrate the past year's accomplishments and to discuss future endeavors. This is an opportunity to lunch with friends and for those new to Weston to make connections and learn how to become involved in the community. All are welcome.

The league is a social and charitable organization founded in 1972 by resident Karin Gianitti and a group of local women who wanted to help neighbors in need. The league is still going strong and has donated more than $600,000 to Fairfield County charities, including Weston Social Services, Weston Senior Center, Weston Warm-up Fund, Weston Education Foundation, Weston Park Project, Weston Library, and the Weston Historical Society as well as Weston EMS, Fire and Police services.

"Weston service organizations have seen an increased need for their support over the past few years, and we're planning exciting new events to help our neighbors in need," says league President Heather Pemberton Levy. "The Weston Women's League is a wonderful way to make friends while making a difference. Our members work both inside and outside the home, and our activities can fit any schedule."

General membership meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, and the social and volunteer projects are many and varied. The league's enrollment is ongoing and members must be 21.

This year's luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a scenic home bordering the Saugatuck River. Admission is free. Please RSVP by July 15 to Stacey Tucker at Stacey@staceylu.com. For more information about membership or the league, visit www.westonwomensleague.org.
