Weston PBA Seeks Your Support

The officers and members of the Weston Police Benevolent Association wrote this open letter to Weston residents:

As the Town of Weston continues to grow, so does the need for public service. Weston police officers perform many tasks that have evolved over the years to include law enforcement, homeland security, social and civil services and first response to all medical emergencies. In Weston, our level of commitment to our community runs deep and can be seen in our services, both on and off duty.

The Weston Police Benevolent Association was established in 1977. It was created to provide a support system for Weston's officers and their families in a time of need. This past year was no exception. We have lost two of our members to ailments and four active members have suffered work-related injuries which kept them from returning to regular duty for an extended period of time. Our goal is to continue that support.

In light of continuing healthcare increases, the Benevolent Association supports the union to ensure the officers of Weston and their families will have medical care. While protecting the interests of our members is our primary function, the Weston Police Benevolent Association has always been an active participant and leader in the sponsorship of many community-based programs, such as the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Weston Middle School Mentor Program, Project Child Safe (gun lock safety program), Toys for Tots, and the Weston Food Pantry, to name a few. Our efforts are designed to foster a good relationship between our members and the community.

To assist us in continuing to provide these and other very important programs, we are asking for your continued and much appreciated support. Donations can be either mailed in or made online at www.westonpba.com. Please be certain to leave a return address or completely fill out the secure online transaction to receive Weston PBA support stickers.
