WESTON, Conn. Help support local artists and the Weston Historical Society by coming out to the societys art show and sale, which opens Sunday, April 22, with a wine and cheese reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibit continues with weekend showings through May 20 from 1 to 5 p.m.
The event honors longtime Weston resident and artist Paul Heifetz, who died last year. It's being held in conjunction with ArtWhirl, a group of professional artists from Fairfield County whose work has been displayed in museums and galleries throughout New England.
Heiftez had been a member of ArtWhirl, and many examples of his work will be for sale at the show. Other ArtWhirl artists whose work will be represented are Doug Leigh, Bobbi Eiken Mullen, Andy Neilly, Wendy Pieper, Ellin Spadone, Liz Ward and Laura Wilk.
Proceeds from sales go to the Weston Historical Society, a not-for-profit dedicated to preserving Weston's history.
The show will be held in the new Weston Historical Society Archive Building at 104 Weston Road behind the Coley Homestead. Admission is free.
