Weston Food Pantry Makes a Plea for Help

WESTON, Conn. ? As Westonites head out to grab last-minute items for their Thanksgiving meal, they can also pick up items that are needed at the Weston Community Food Pantry.

While donations tend to be abundant this time of year, said Betsy Peyreigne, co-director, the pantry is running “very, very low” on a number of items, including canned fruit, canned chicken or tuna, mayonnaise and cereal.

“Those are the things we really, really need. Those are the items that can really go far and can really help our families,” she said.

Donations can be dropped off at the food pantry on Norfield Road, in the same parking lot as the EMS and fire station.

Residents can make money donations as well. Checks can be made out to The Community Food Pantry, Inc., or gift cards can be purchased at the following stores: Stop & Shop, Caraluzzi’s and Ancona’s Market.
