Weston Celebrates St. Patrick's Day A Bit Early

WESTON, Conn. — Weston residents got a little jump on the St. Patrick’s Day celebration last weekend during the St. Francis of Assisi Church's annual spring fundraising party.

The theme was a “St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Fest,” commemorating not only the two venerated saints of the Roman Catholic tradition, but also the Irish and Italian nationalities of which they are patrons.

At the event, nearly 200 parishioners of St, Francis and their guests filled the church’s parish hall for an evening of dining, dancing to Irish music from the Highland Rovers Band and taking part in live and silent auctions.

The Daily Weston reader, Peggy Shaeffer, sent us this great photo of the festivities. Do you have any photos from events and happenings around Weston? Send them to reporter Erin Lynch at elynch@thedailyweston.com.
