Weston 10-Year-Old Is Voice Of New PBS Cartoon 'Peg + Cat'

WESTON, Conn. – Weston fifth-grader Hayley Faith Negrin is lending her voice and math skills to a new math-themed PBS kids show called “Peg + Cat,” the Hartford Courant reported.

Every other week or so, 10-year-old Hayley Faith takes the train after school with her mother to a studio in Brooklyn where she acts and records her voice for the show, which concentrates on the solutions of real-life math problems with help from a talking cat and an opera-singing pig, the report said.

Hayley Faith’s professional bio on the Internet Movie Data Base web site (IMDB.com) says she has been singing, dancing and entertaining for years.  The Courant reported that she was discovered at an audition for a TV ad for Verizon Fios when she was 7 – in which she is featured as the little girl who asks for a napkin.

“Peg + Cat” premieres on Oct. 7 on PBS, the report said. Show times will be available online, but have not yet been announced.
