Fishing poles in hand and tackle boxes at their feet, Weston residents will line the Saugatuck River on Saturday, April 16, to kick off trout season.
The Saugatuck flows through Redding and Weston. There is a wheelchair-accessible fishing dock in Weston at the intersection of Valley Forge and Davis Hill roads.
Fishing permits may be obtained at the town clerk's office. An inland fishing license is $28 and an all-waters inland and marine license is $32. All Aquarion passes are free for Weston residents. Senior and handicap licenses are also free.
The Saugatuck Reservoir can also be accessed at Devils Den, located at the end of Pent Road in Weston. The park is open from dawn till dusk.
