It's getting closer and closer to back-to-school time and that means back-to-school shopping is in order. But for some, paying for even basic supplies may be a challenge. Weston Youth Services, led by director Kristin Ferrara, is sponsoring a school supply drive for the Weston Social Services Department and families in the area.
Ferrara said she expected this year's drive to be bigger than the first one held last year. "This year we extended the length and ramped up our publicity efforts," she said. "We hope that by doing this [we will] have even greater success."
Residents are asked to donate school supplies such as 3-inch ring binders; No. 2 pencils; blue, black or red pens; crayons; colored pencils; scissors; highlighters; college-ruled loose-leaf paper; binders; one-subject college-ruled notebooks; binder dividers; folders; and gift cards. Donations can be dropped off at collection boxes at Town Hall, the library or the Youth Services Office in the Town Hall Annex on School Road. Donations will be accepted until Aug. 25.
For additional information, contact Kristin Ferrara by e-mail or by phone at 203-222-2585.
