While waiting for their dinner, Westporters Benny Berggren, 10, and his parents received a table-side magic show at Bobby Q's in downtown Westport.
"He's cool," a wide-eyed Benny said of magician Tony Spero. "I thought the coin trick he did was cool: [the coin] was small and then he made it really big."
Robin Berggren appeared to be as amused as her son as she watched Spero perform a variation of the magic handkerchief.
"He's actually really good," she said as Spero made the hankie disappear, eventually reappearing in his mouth.
Spero, of Norwalk, said he's been a magician for about 30 years. For the past four, he's been serving up magic at Bobby Q's.
"My interest started around the second grade," Spero said. "There was a local toy store with a magic department that gave lessons and I took some lessons."
If you're looking for dinner with a side of magic, Spero performs at Bobby Q's every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
