Summers Best Moments Live On

It’s almost time to put the grill away and cover the pool, but in these last days of summer Eastonites are taking the time to reflect on favorite moments from the long, hot summer. “I’m ready for it to cool down, but I’m not ready for the winter yet,” said Joel Kahn, who had just returned from a round of golf with friends.

A trip to northern Maine was one of the highlights of his summer. “I have some friends up there, so it was a nice trip, a nice getaway.” A Labor Day trip to Quassy Amusement Park with his granddaughters is sure to compete.

Corinne Skrtich recalled time spent working at the Easton Fireman’s Carnival last month. She and her husband are both involved with the fire department. “He works there every night at the carnival and then I take my kids Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday,”  she said while grabbing a snack with daughter Maya at the Easton Village Store.

Anna Dunham took a moment from computer work at the Easton Library to remember waterskiing this summer in Salem. “It was my first time, it was interesting. It was a little difficult, but it was fun,” she said. But she’s not too disappointed to be leaving warm weather behind. “I like the winter -- I like snowboarding.”
