Head on over to Westport Library May 10 for the semi-annual Youth Volunteer Expo, an afternoon dedicated to connecting young people with the local nonprofits who can use their help.
“Summer is a great time for students to earn volunteer hours, but often it takes longer to connect with the right organization than it does to volunteer,” said Jaina Shaw, teen services librarian. “We are excited to once again provide kids and families with one-stop shopping to find the right nonprofit for them, whether they are looking to volunteer one day, one week or the entire summer.”
The event, aimed at kids in grades 6 to 12, will be open from 4 to 6 p.m.
Organizations represented include: The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Westport Historical Society, Toquet Hall Teen Center, Volunteer Square, Friends of Sherwood Island State Park, Family & Children's Agency, Wakeman Town Farm, Builders Beyond Borders, League of Women Voters of Westport, Person-to-Person and Westport Senior Center.
