“Everyone has a story to tell. These workshops will take participants through a step-by-step writing process,” Soviero said in a statement. “Students should come equipped to take notes and will come away with key writing essentials.”
Soviero is editor-in-chief and publisher of “Brain, Child: The Magazine for Thinking Mothers” and the author of “An Iridescent Life: Essays on Motherhood and Stepmotherhood.” Her workshop will have three sessions, each with a different topic. The first will cover journal writing and getting started. The second will be on writing personal essays and memoirs. The third will teach writers how to get published.
Sessions will take place from noon to 2 p.m. on the next three Wednesdays: March 13, March 20 and March 27. Those interested can sign up for any one of the sessions or all three.
The course is a free program offered by the Friends of the Weston Library, and paid for by a grant from the Weston Foundation for Education. There is no charge, but those interested are encouraged to preregister via email at friendsofthewestonlibrary@gmail.com.
