Reilly, Ex-Easton Building Consultant, Dies at 81

EASTON, Conn. — Gerard J. "Jerry" Reilly, 81, formerly of Easton, died Tuesday, March 27, at St. Vincent's Medical Center.

A resident of Easton most of his life, Reilly worked as an executive for contracting and supply firms and as a building consultant. He was also a member of the Exchange Club of Easton.

He was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Bridgeport to the late James and Josephine Paterno Reilly. He spent his early childhood in Bridgeport and the Bronx, but lived most of his life in Easton. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1953 with a major in accounting and later received a master's degree in the field.

Reilly was vice president of Fairfield Lumber and Supply Company for over 30 years, as well as president of the Fairfield Homes Company. Additionally, he worked as a private building and construction consultant and owned Amity Association Realty.

A resident of Trumbull for the last 14 years, Reilly was a member of the Fairfield Board of Realtors, Fairfield County Homebuilders Association, Men's Club at Tashua Knolls and The Patterson Club of Fairfield, where he enjoyed numerous years of playing his favorite sport, golf, with many good friends. 

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan DelVecchio Reilly. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Reilly (Brian J.) Dunne and Beverly L. Reilly and her husband, Christopher Wendling, five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Pius X Church in Fairfield, with entombment to follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lesko and Polke Funeral Home in Fairfield Center.
