Owner Brings Music, Art and Love to E-Card Company

What’s love got to do with it? Ask Pound Ridge resident Jane Price Lieberman and she'll say, "everything."

Along with her husband Steve, Jane co-owns Unvelope.com, a new website service offering a distinctive line of artfully executed online greeting cards. The couple has worked side-by-side since they met and married nearly 30 years ago.

"Miraculously," said the managing partner of Unvelope, "we are still in love."

The Liebermans have drawn inspiration for some of the more romantic cards from things they wrote to each other over the years. "I figured it was time to share the love and help others do the same," she said.

That wasn't their only intention, however. The Liebermans also set out to to fill a void in the market for sophisticated, eco-friendly and economical online cards that reflect how people feel as well as their sense of style. After nearly two years of product and site development, the “art and soul of e-cards®” was launched in December 2010.

“Our cards get accolades from those who send them, whether for personal use or for business,” Jane said. "One attorney, never usually at a loss for words, asked me how I knew what he had wanted to say to his wife all these years. Later that day, he emailed telling me that when his wife received his card, she wanted to know what took [him] so long."

The Lieberman’s team includes illustrator/animator, Carly Schoenberg. From concept to conclusion, every card is designed to evoke emotion through music and art. “Whether our members send from our ‘Pet to Parent,’ ‘Relationships’ or our unique ‘Must See’ categories, they seem to thoroughly enjoy navigating the site and viewing our cards,” said Jane.

Jane also said the Liebermans have been told their sophisticated and sensitive “Same Sex Marriage” congratulations cards are a vast improvement over others currently available.
