Musical Homage Debuts Tonight

Weston will be alive with the sound of music tonight and throughout this weekend. A musical experience dubbed "A Grand Night for Singing" kicks off at 7:30 p.m. today at the St. Francis of Assisi parish hall. The event is a celebration of the works of Rodgers & Hammerstein and will continue through the weekend.

Showcasing the popular and oft-imitated styles of the dynamic composing duo, music director Todd Caporizzo will "bring the Broadway classics to life with songs from 'The Sound of Music,' 'South Pacific,' 'The King and I,' 'Cinderella,' 'Oklahoma,' 'Carousel' and more," Aline Weiller said in a statement.

"We're thrilled to present 'A Grand Night for Singing' to the Weston community and beyond," Caporizzo said. "Rodgers and Hammerstein have a repertoire that is unmatched which both adults and children will enjoy. The show promises to be a crowd pleaser."

For tickets, call the box office at 203-451-8239. Reservations are encouraged, but available tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets purchased will be held at the box office for all performances.

The musical celebration is also a fundraiser for St. Francis of Assisi, 35 Norfield Road. The performances are 7:30 tonight and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $35 per person, except $25 for teens and children at the Sunday show only. It is cabaret style table seating at all performances; bring your own food and beverages.
