Melissa & Doug Sponsors Redding's Mark Twain Library Fundraiser

REDDING, Conn. -- The 19th annual Frog Frolic, one of several fund-raisers for Redding's Mark Twain Library, will receive help from a lead sponsor for the first time, courtesy of Wilton toy company Melissa and Doug, the library announced in a statement.

Held on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the funds help cover the operating costs of the library, which are not entirely paid for by the town of Redding.

Family favorites will all be there: Kiss-A-Frog, Bubble Garden, bounce houses, Touch-A-Truck, storybook characters, a book sale and an amazing assortment of make-your-own crafts. A silent auction will offer family entertainment to Mother's Day gifts to unique town offerings.

In the event of rain, the Frolic will move indoors. Admission is free.Food will be available for purchase.

The Mark Twain Library Association was founded by the legendary author himself shortly after he moved to Redding near the end of his life in 1908.

"It is through this generosity and our sponsors that we can work towards the Library’s mission to honor Mark Twain’s vision of this library as a center for intellectual, educational, social and cultural enrichment," the library said in the statement.

Founded in 1988, Melissa and Doug creates and distributes educational and classic toys from its headquarters in Wilton.
