Meet Weston's Lifeguard: Sarah O'Brien

WESTON, Conn. -- Sarah O'Brien learned to swim at Weston Middle School. Now the all-state lacrosse player is teaching others the strokes. She's been a Weston lifeguard for three years and a water safety instructor for two.

"I used to come here every day when I was little--with the other lifeguards. We all used to come here," Sarah said Thursday as she watched the water at Bisceglie Pond. "Now we all work here. The lifeguards then used to babysit me."

Sarah will attend UConn in the fall with her brother and sister, who are also lifeguards in Weston. In addition to lacrosse, she played field hockey and ran indoor track all four years at Weston High School. She was also named to the all-Southwest Conference first team in lacrosse and defender of the year.

Sarah plans to play club sports at UConn and study medicine in some capacity.
