Letter: Shaban's Record On Environment Praised

To the Editor,

To avoid discussing the economy, the Democrats misrepresent John Shaban’s stellar environmental record. Shaban is a leader on the Environment Committee and, as an environmental lawyer, has an in-depth knowledge of the challenges we face. Even well-meaning environmental bills can be redundant and flawed. Shaban's balanced approach to studying the impact of these proposals on our community is what we need. Shaban has supported bills to secure open space, promote local farming and protect groundwater, but a thoughtful "no" vote to flawed environmental legislation gets Shaban attacked by people who haven't taken the time to look behind the vote. Don’t believe the lies or biased “scorecards,” believe his record.
