Letter: Shaban Rapped On His Environmental Record

WESTON, Conn. — The Weston Daily Voice accepts signed, original letters to the editor. Letters may be emailed to weston@dailyvoice.com.

To the Editor,

As a Weston resident whose water comes from a well, I am concerned by Rep. John Shaban's voting record. The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters' 2012 Environment Score Card awarded 100% grades to both of Weston's Republican State Senators, Boucher and McKinney, but Shaban had a 53% failing grade. When questioned at Saturday's LWV debate about his low rating by the League of Conservation Voters, Shaban dismissed them as a "Special Interest Group," stating he is proud that he doesn't do what they want when they want him to. Proud? Really? What about what his constituents want him to do?
