WESTON, Conn. ? This letter was written by Weston Board of Finance member Melissa Koller in support of the candidacy of Susan Moch.
Caught in the crossfire of political mud-slinging, Police Commission candidate Susan Moch has emerged with her integrity intact. Moch has faced the innuendo head-on, going immediately to the Board of Ethics to ask for their opinion. In the (very) unlikely event that the Ethics Board finds a conflict, Moch promises to immediately remove her name from the ballot.
At the other extreme, Republican Finance candidate David Finkel has ignored rulings by both the Board of Ethics and Town Attorney that he has a conflict of interest. Instead of removing his name from the ballot, he has dismissed the two legal opinions as an overblown distraction.
Republican candidate for First Selectman Dan Gilbert claims, Regarding town government, ethical always comes first. Is Mr. Gilbert genuine? What about the candidate ticket he leads and the blatant tactics theyve employed to avoid the Board of Ethics ruling against them, while at the same time hurling baseless accusations at an opponent?
Susan Moch: honesty, integrity, good government.
