Jean Devine, 82, Easton Realtor

EASTON, Conn. – Jean Marie Commorato Devine, of Easton, died April 27. She was 82.  

Devine was born in New York's Greenwich Village to the late Anthony and Lena "Betty" DeFazio Commorato. She was raised in Greenwich Village and lived in the Bronx and Metuchen, N.J., before moving to Easton in 1976. She served as editor of Baby Magazine, co-owned and operated Jet Cloud Travel Agency in New York City and worked in real estate for 17 years with the William Raveis Company before her retirement. 

Devine was chairperson of the J.F.K. Hospital Auxiliary and an active volunteer at St. Francis Cathedral while in Metuchen. She established the charitable Turkey Trot 5K Road Race and was its coordinator for many years. Devine was also a member of the Gaelic American Club and a longtime parishioner of Notre Dame of Easton Church. She enjoyed world travel, entertaining and socializing and especially loved the time that she would spend with family. 

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Devine; three daughters, Susan (John) Igoe, of Somers Point, N.J., Diane Devine (Lee) Mizusawa, of Portsmouth, N.H., and Laura (Joseph) Pehota, of Fairfield; two sons, Thomas (Susan) Devine, of New Fairfield and Terence (Ann) Devine, of Fairfield; and 12 grandchildren. Devine was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Ryan and Patricia Koshofer, and a niece. 

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame of Easton Church, with burial following at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Lesko & Polke Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
