Tax season is in full swing. And for low-income and/or elderly Weston residents, there are many organizations out there offering free or reduced-price tax preparation services.
The AARP is one such organization. The group has offered free tax services to low- and moderate-income people for more than 40 years. AARPs Tax-Aide program serves all ages, although special attention is given to people over 60.
With more people turning to social services and food pantries for help, the need for maximizing discretionary income has grown as well. The AARP is also looking for volunteers to file tax returns, interact with clients, provide technical support, promote the AARP Tax-Aide program and manage volunteers.

In addition to the Westport location, the AARP provides its Tax-Aide service to senior and community centers in Norwalk, Stamford, Greenwich and Fairfield.
