WESTON, Conn. Get the bags of candy ready because several Weston Halloween events that were canceled on Oct. 31 are happening Saturday, says First Selectman Gayle Weinstein.
Absolutely! My kids friends are referring to it as Gayleoween, said Weinstein.
In the wake of the unusual snowstorm, Weston officials decided to postpone several of the Oct. 31 Halloween activities until Nov. 5, including the Girl Scout Scare Fair, the Raggamuffin Parade and the firehouse haunted house. The town has also asked parents to take children trick-or-treating Saturday.
The Weston Girl Scouts and the Weston Historical Society will host the Scare Fair, where there will be crafts, games and treats. The fair takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at the Weston Historical Society on Weston Road.
The Ragamuffin Parade, put on annually by the Weston Womens League, will happen at Hurlbutt Elementary Schools South House Field from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Children and adults can play games and enter a costume competition. The parade will start at the elementary school and end at kid-friendly haunted house at the Weston fire station.
