Westport is in the running for the Top 10 in the online state contest, and it may be thanks partially to the video tour of the town put together by the trio, who wear "Everyone Loves a Westport Girl" in most of the scenes.
Backed by pop tunes, the girls take a tour of the various hotspots that make Westport special.
First Selectman Jim Marpe even makes a cameo appearance and talks about the town's population and history as a haven for artists.
The video touts the Levitt Pavilion and makes stops with the girls at many destinations, including the Westport Historical Society, the MakerSpace at the Westport Public Library, Earthplace, the Westport Arts Center, Compo Beach, the Longshore Golf Course, Sherwood Island State Park, Westport Country Playhouse and the Rolnick Observatory.
The girls grab their shopping bags and stroll through downtown's many shops and restaurants, grabbing treats at Saugatuck Sweets, Frosty Bear and the Coffee an Donut Shop. They even try their hand at Kaia Yoga and hit the playground at Compo.
At the end of the video, they list all the destinations they hit and give a special thank you to Claudine Brantley for filming and editing.
The challenge runs through July 25 and everyone over the age of 18 is encouraged to vote not only for their favorite town, but also for favorite business, destination or attraction within the town.
It's the second year in a row for the State Tourism Office's contest, which encourages residents to vote for their towns to win bragging rights for the next year. It also includes some additional incentives, such as state-funded advertising for the town, an honorary plaque and a feature in the official state guide.
“The Connecticut still revolutionary Fan-Favorite Town program allows us to celebrate and promote the incredible breadth of experiences and unique towns that the state has to offer, from seaside escapes to bustling cities and scenic trails,” said Randy Fiveash, director of the Connecticut Office of Tourism.
As an additional incentive to vote, the state is entering everyone who votes into a giveaway where they might win a four-night stay at the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina in Niantic - last year's first Fan-Favorite Town - a $100 gift card to Boutique and a free all-day pass to Niantic Bay Bicycles.
To vote for your favorite town, residents can go onto the Visit Connecticut Facebook page here and click on the "Vote Now" button or visit the state tourism website and vote there.
