Kevin Collins of Easton met with state Rep. John Shaban, a Republican who represents Easton, Weston and Redding, on "Academic Day" at the Capitol in Hartford.
On Wednesday, students from colleges and universities throughout Connecticut represented their schools at the Capitol. Collins was selected by administrators at Trinity College in Hartford, where he is a senior, to represent the school.
Each of the students, Collins included, received a special citation from the General Assembly. Collins' parents watched him receive the honor.
