EASTON, Conn. The Easton Learning Foundation has shared these great pictures from its silent auction and holiday party this past weekend.
The foundation held two auctions: an online auction and the silent auction at the fundraiser-party at the Aspetuck Valley Country Club.
Hundreds of items were put up for bid to raise money for two new mobile iPad classrooms at Helen Keller Middle School and Samuel Staples Elementary School. The foundation hoped to raise $45,000 to pay for the programs. Bernadette Waterman, the foundation's president, said the amount raised has yet to be determined.
Founded in 2004, the Learning Foundation works to enrich the quality education offered by Easton schools and to promote lifelong learning. It raises money for innovative education projects within the schools. The programs it funds are not covered under the school budget.
